About Our Facilities

CJRC maintains a boathouse in Newport, KY, at the western-most end of Riverboat Row. We also have a winter training facility beneath the Montgomery Inn Boathouse, located downtown.

During the Fall and Spring, practice takes place at the Newport facility, with the teams moving indoors for inclement weather. Our winter training camp happens at the Montgomery Inn.

About the Club

The Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club is a competitive rowing team, open to any high school student in the greater Cincinnati area.  Located in Newport, Ky, the club has both boys and girls teams, totaling around 130 rowers from area schools.

Since our inception in 1993, CJRC has emerged as one of the dominant programs in the Midwest region if not the whole country. The boys and girls teams have each won 20 team championships at the annual Midwest Junior Rowing Association competition along with over 30 medals at National Championship regattas, including 15 national titles. Following their successes at our club, numerous CJRC have gone on to compete in the Olympics and other world rowing competitions.

Many of our club’s rowers continue their rowing careers at elite colleges and rowing programs such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, Pennsylvania, Brown, Cornell, MIT, Duke, Virginia, Texas, Washington, etc.  Although we have experienced national recognition, we pride ourselves on being a program driven by the rowers and open to anyone--regardless of experience or income level.
