Boathouse Project Update

With the completion of another successful rowing season, it is now time to shift attention to Phase II of the Boathouse project. We need your donation by August 15th to begin Phase II.

Check out the project update here. The groundwork is in place and Greg and the project team are ready to move forward. Our alumni and Community Rowing friends have been very generous in helping CJRC receive pledges for over 50% of the needed funds.

All donations are greatly appreciated. It takes us all working together to Move The Boat.

Girls grab Silver and Bronze at Nationals

6/2016

The team had incredibly exciting post-season racing this year. At the USRowing Youth Nationals in West Windsor, NJ, the girl’s lightweight eight won bronze while the girl’s varsity eight edged out Connecticut Boat Club in the closing meters of the race to earn silver. The boys lightweight and varsity eights finished fifth and seventh.

The girl’s racing was exciting, and especially courageous in the eights, remarked Varsity Girl’s Coach Andy Piepmeier. They went way beyond the race plan!

The team continues training for the USRowing Club Nationals in July.

Boathouse Expansion

We are progressing on the boathouse expansion. O'Rourke construction has completed modifications to the property around the existing boathouse and parking lots to accomodate the expansion. Fund-Raising efforts for the building itself will begin soon!

The expanded boathouse will feature 3 additional bays on the southside of the building, effectively doubling storage space. There will also be an erg loft facing the river on the west side of the building. This climate controlled area can be used to train in inclement weather.
